CLASS II LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT
REQUEST FOR ARCHITECT/ENGINEER STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuant to West Virginia Code 5G-1-3, and the requirements of the School Building Authority of WV (SBA), the Pocahontas County Board of Education is seeking Expressions of Interest and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified firms to provide professional Architectural / Engineering services for the following:
1. Improvements to the Pocahontas County Schools’ baseball and softball fields and facilities at Pocahontas County High School.
2. Pocahontas County Schools CEFP Priority #3 Project, potentially funded by the School Building Authority of West Virginia: Roof replacement at Marlinton Middle School.
3. Pocahontas County Schools CEFP Priority #1 Project, projected to be funded by the Pocahontas County Board of Education: Electrical upgrades at Marlinton Elementary School.
4. Emergency projects resulting from water, fire, or weather-related damage.
5. As funds become available for non–SBA-funded work, Pocahontas County Schools seeks architectural and engineering services to support building and grounds renovations, additions, and upgrades. This commitment will be evaluated annually and may extend for up to three (3) years for county-funded projects.
6. Any additional SBA-funded projects not listed will be advertised upon receipt of funding.

The SOQ is also posted on the Pocahontas County Board of Education site under the News section (URL as follows: https://boe.pocahontas.k12.wv.us/ ).
Statements of Qualifications must be received no later than April 30, 2026, by 3:00 p.m. local prevailing time to Pocahontas County Board of Education, 404 Old Buckeye Road, Buckeye, WV 24924. In accordance with the requirements of WV Code 5G-1-3, these statements will be evaluated, and the county will conduct discussions with at least three firms which are deemed to be the most highly qualified to provide the services required.
The Pocahontas County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all statements from interested firms and to make the award in any manner deemed to be in its best interest in accordance with WV Code 5G-1-3.
