Parents and Community Members, Early today a call was received at Pocahontas County High School that required a school lockdown and notification to law enforcement. Once on scene at the high school and out of an abundance of caution our Sheriff's Department recommended lockdown at all schools while they investigated. We are dismissing on a regular schedule. We thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this situation of keeping all students and staff safe.

MMS would like to thank the Marlinton Women's Club for hosting the annual Evening with the Arts. This event showcases the incredible talent we have in Pocahontas County. The students work throughout the year to develop compositions to enter for judging. First Place winners also have the opportunity to send their work to the regional art show, held over the summer. Regional winners will continue on to the state for judging later in the year. Congratulations to all of our talented artists!
