Spring Testing Dates at Marlinton Middle School
Please review the spring testing schedule by grade level and help students prepare for success! Getting plenty of rest, eating a healthy breakfast, and arriving on time can make a big difference.
Let’s encourage our students to do their very best—we’re proud of how prepared they are!

This is an important Board of Education Announcement.
Due to a technical error the last agenda did not post to our website; therefore, the regularly scheduled meeting must be reschedule. A new agenda and time will be posted tomorrow.
Thank you
MMS would like to thank the Marlinton Women's Club for hosting the annual Evening with the Arts. This event showcases the incredible talent we have in Pocahontas County. The students work throughout the year to develop compositions to enter for judging. First Place winners also have the opportunity to send their work to the regional art show, held over the summer. Regional winners will continue on to the state for judging later in the year. Congratulations to all of our talented artists!

Big thanks from Marlinton Creek and Trail Campground, PMH and MMS staff for our day 1 of staff appreciation!

Good evening, Copperheads.
The General Summative Assessment, or WVGSA, begins this week. Please help your child be successful by making sure they get plenty of rest, arrive at school on time, and eat a healthy breakfast. Encourage them to take their time, read each question carefully, and simply do their best. A positive mindset and reassurance from home makes a big difference.
Testing will begin with eighth grade math on Wednesday, May 6. Eighth grade will take ELA on Thursday, May 7, followed by writing on Friday, May 8.
Being at school every day matters, and even a few missed days can have a big impact on learning. We need your help to lower this number by prioritizing daily attendance whenever possible.
Finally, this week is Staff Appreciation Week. We are truly blessed to have some of the best staff in Pocahontas County, and we appreciate all they do every single day for our students. Thank you for your continued support, and have a great evening.
We are having technical difficulties with printing progress reports, we will be sending them home on Monday. Thanks for understanding!
Final push, MMS! 💥
Show cooperation, earn tickets, win prizes — it’s that simple. Staff are watching for students who “demonstrate the skill of the week” anywhere in the building.
Testing week = bonus opportunities to shine.
Don’t forget: Prize drawings every Tuesday & Thursday at lunch!
Let’s rack up those tickets, MMS!

Capes? Optional.
Impact? HUGE.

The MMS bands have been invited to perform at Marlinton’s “May Celebration of Youth Arts” this Friday, May 1st, on the Discovery Junction stage. Letters went home last week with details for band students who wish to perform. The concert is from 5:00-7:00 PM and is free and open to the public. It will also feature musical performances from MES students and PCHS’s band. We hope to see you there!
