🌟 Shout out to our amazing community, staff and students! 🌟 Thank you for coming together to support the flood victims in southern WV! 🙌 Just look at the incredible items collected to help our fellow Mountaineers recover from the recent flooding. 😍 Donated items were delivered to the McDowell County Board of Education office on 3/27 by Ms. Tritapoe and Mrs. Wilfong. In addition to the donated goods, MMS and PCHS hosted penny drives to collect monetary donations for victims that were also delivered. McDowell County staff were FLOORED by the generosity of our county and were deeply appreciative of our efforts! 💙 #CommunityStrong #WVRecovery #MountaineerPride #WVStrong #GreatThingsFromPC

Marlinton Middle School is reminding everyone to stay mindful of the dress code even as the weather warms up! When the weather gets warmer, it’s easy to want to wear more casual or cooler clothes, but it’s still important to follow the guidelines in place.
Here’s a gentle reminder of what you might need to keep in mind:
• Shorts and Skirts: Make sure they are an appropriate length—usually, they should be at fingertip length/midthigh including location of holes/tears.
• Tops: Avoid wearing tops that reveal bra straps and stomachs.
• Graphic T-shirts: Keep it school-friendly—avoid shirts with inappropriate language, images and innuendos.
Your school likely wants to make sure everyone stays comfortable but still maintains a focus on learning and respect for others. You could check with a teacher or administrator if you're ever unsure whether something fits the dress code!

❄️ 2024-2025 PCS Calendar Update❄️
This winter has certainly kept us on our toes with its heavy snowfall and multiple school closures. Pocahontas County Schools, like other districts in the state, strictly follows state policies for making up missed school days.
Our main goal is to ensure that students continue to receive a quality education while keeping everyone safe during severe weather conditions. Should our area experience more inclement weather resulting in the cancellation of school, additional adjustments will need to be made. We have attached the most recent version of our school calendar with a recap of our snow day usage. Visit this link for more info: https://bit.ly/3XmmFdd

Please help us raise money for WV flood victims by participating in our Penny War starting tomorrow! :)

Join us to learn about the calendar survey results and the committee's three calendars based on those results. Voting for next year's school calendar will begin on April 1.
March 11 at 4:30 at Pocahontas County High School
April 1 at 5:30 at the Board of Education Office
You may also join virtually.
